FALL BALL

Fall Ball: An opportunity for players to go through a rigorous regiment of skills training and conditioning for two hours. One hour focuses on strictly drills and stations and the other hour is playing using the skills learned throughout the day.

During this weekends session we had a newcomer workout with Coach Donta Johnson for the first time who really impressed.

Lucas Hannen performed very well during the stations and continued to impress during the scrimmage period. Lucas showcased his court awareness, ball handling skills and hit the pull up jump shot at will against defenders. He got his teammates involved and was determined throughout the day.

During the second session Peter Tomasiello (Xavier High School in Middletown-Junior) performed very well during the stations and was a sniper from behind the arc. His showed a polished mid range game as well. He made defensive stops when his team needed them the most. His team went undefeated throughout the course of the day.

During the third session Michael Boornazian (Xavier High School in Middletown-Senior) was terrific during the shooting station as he showed a faster release on his jump shot and showcased his commitment to handling the basketball. During the scrimmage period he flat out did not miss. He scored on from three, drives to the basket and dunks. He showed his arsenal this weekend.

The 5th grade group showcased Luke Brennan: Over the course of two weeks Luke has showed his commitment to defensive. He has been able to grasp the defensive concepts instructed during the stations and showed hustle over the course of the two weeks. We did not report on this group last week but stay tuned for more updates.
